| alternator for mikro turbine |
 |
I,m a student at the TU München, and currently working on a small project concerning the construction of a micro-hydro-turbine based on a crossflow-turbine design.
At the moment we have sketched a turbine with roundabout :
Power 600W;
Torque 10-15 Nm;
400 rpm
For this set i'm looking for a suitable alternator, but have no clue what to use best or where to find it.
The only thing i found was a nice but immensly expensive alternator designed for windpower use, and a lot of discussion about using asynchronous motors as alternators, but nothing precise.
I read about the project of kleinstwasserkraft klopp and the university of siegen and that there were tests on asynchronous alternators, and even saw that they used one for another project at the university of siegen for their waterwheel.
The project is backed up by the university, so it is possible to pay some money for a suitable alternator. I would prefer to find a solution which does not inhibit a lot of fiddling around with the interior of the alternator/motor. I see that there are a lot of solutions on the market which cover this range of power/torque/rpm so i guess there might be some product out there...
thanks for the help.

Hello Axel!
I think I can help you with your Generator problem. We will have suitable generators for water- and windpower in the next weeks. They are low voltage DC type permanent magnet alternators. Different types will be avaiable. One for fast running systems with 12V at 1200 RPM but also a unit with 12V at just 130 RPM.
I will send you an offer in the next week via eMail.
Regards
Simon

Thanks a lot, or dankeschön,
my mothertongue is german, but since this forum seems to have a lot of english posts i will continue in english.
Thanks a lot.
i will be on holidays until the 29th of august. still, i would be very happy about an offer until then.
Of course i'm eager to know how much one of the generators will cost. as i wrote the last one i requested was about 3000€ and this is way to much.
But I'm also still interested in using motors as alternators. If you have some info or contacts about that i would be glad.
I was really astonished to find a company like yours here in munich just were i live. I think i heard of you once from a friend of mine who is one of the persons who run an organisation called green-step e.V? his name is johannes.
Anyway. thanks a lot again
