I found the test run very illuminating and informative. I have searched the site but have not found an equivalent test and breakdown for any of the power pal generators but most specifically the 500 hh witch is directly comparable. Has KWK Hydro laboratory done such tests ? If it has where can I find them?
Thanks;
Bryan

Hello Bryan!
Yes, we have done a PowerPal MHG-500HH test run in early 2006. This run was also quite successful, but the type of turbine is different to the actual MHG-500HH, which is manufactured from another company.
Main differences:
- Needle valve is made very easy, not the complex and accurate build up as the old one. More just an adjustable plug in the nozzle.
- Turgo turbine runner is made in thinner sheet metal. (No problem, you can adapt one of our AG-Series Turgo runners instead of the original runner to get better performance)
- Generator bearing is like the LH turbines, with an open end rotor mounting (easy to adapt a cooling fan set on top, to add active cooling to the generator)
Certainly, I have a new MHG-500HH and also the LH types here in my workshop, and I can give you answers to the questions you have!
Regards
Simon
Thread copied to PowerPal basics!!
PS: I´ve attached two pictures of the MHG-500HH unit, the old and new one. you can see the different design of them.
